Handwoven in Santa María del Río, San Luis Potosí, using the backstrap loom and repacejo technique.
Known as the birthplace of the traditional rebozo, Santa María del Río is home to generations of women weavers who preserve one of Mexico’s most intricate textile arts. The backstrap loom allows for intuitive, body-led weaving, while the repacejo, or knotted fringe, is hand finished with extraordinary precision, a skill passed down from mother to daughter.
Each piece is made in collaboration with a women-led collective, honoring the cultural richness and enduring artistry of Mexican textile heritage.
